Kharkiv National Medical University (KNMU) is one of the leading Ukrainian educational institutions and the first higher medical educational institution in Ukraine.

It was founded as a medical faculty at Kharkov Imperial University in 1805. By decision of the Cabinet of Ukraine the university was the first educational institution that was granted the IVth level of accreditation which is considered the highest level.
