The January World Universities Web Ranking 2020 has been published. The authoritative portal QS World University Rankings has published a rating of 1000 of the best universities in the world.
The most authoritative Ukrainian university for many years remains V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.
1. What places did Ukrainian universities take
- V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University — 491;
- Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv — 541-550*;
- National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute» — 651-700*;
- National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” — 701-750*;
- Sumy State University — 701-750*;
- Lviv Polytechnic National University — 751-800*.
* Range of numbers means that universities with the same rating are included here.
2. Are these good indicators?
Compared to last year’s rating, only ational Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute» and Sumy State University could improve their positions. The remaining universities lost their places: V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National Universit, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”. The rating of Lviv Polytechnic National University remained unchanged.
3. What are the criteria for the assessment?
The rating in total consists of two indicators: “academic reputation” and “employer reputation”. The first was obtained from a survey of scientists from around the world, and the second from employers.
