On May 19, Minister of Education and Science Sergei Shkarlet joined an online meeting of President Vladimir Zelensky with students and rectors of Ukrainian universities.
Students from Dnipro, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kryvyi Rih, Mariupol, Lviv, Donetsk, Odessa, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Kyiv asked the president questions. The dialogue on the state of education and science and the ways of their restoration lasted almost three hours.
The President said that rebuilt Ukraine will be modern and technologically advanced. This also applies to education.
“Together with you we will build a strong country. It’s not just about the buildings, it’s about who we are, what kind of children we will raise and what kind of education they will receive at such wonderful universities. And how they will feel about our country. “ the President underlined.
“I agree with the President that it is necessary not just to rebuild, but to create a new Ukraine. That is why the National Council for Reconstruction of Ukraine functions, which out of 23 working groups has one on the restoration of education and science. ” – noted Sergey Shkarlet.
