Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, considered one of the oldest educational institutions in Eastern Europe and the oldest university in Ukraine, firmly occupies a leading position among higher educational institutions in the country.

The university actively represents the Ukrainian academic community on the world stage, strengthening its international ties. Over the past few years, many cooperation and double degree agreements have been concluded with educational institutions from different countries. Currently, the university cooperates with 147 educational and scientific institutions from 38 countries. Many faculty members also participate in academic exchange and research abroad.

The University actively supports the Charter of European Universities and is a co-founder of the European College of Polish and Ukrainian Universities in Lublin, Poland.
