Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas

Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas is the only gas-related university in Ukraine, with about 10 thousand students studying in 13 departments. Since its founding in 1967, the university has been renowned for producing qualified and experienced professionals for the oil and gas industry. However, it has expanded to offer education in economics, management and law that is directly related to the needs of the energy industry.

The Ivano-Frankivsk University of Oil and Gas uses a dual approach to teaching students: in classrooms and on-site practical training. During the classes, students are provided with theoretical knowledge. Then, working in university “on-site classrooms” or undergoing internships in regional enterprises and organizations, future specialists gain practical experience.

Education is actively integrating into the international space. The university’s capabilities for teacher training, student exchange, internships abroad, and obtaining information from foreign countries in the field of planning, organizing and implementing the educational process have increased. The University of Oil and Gas was one of the first universities in Ukraine to become a member of the International Association for Student Exchange and Internships (IAESTE).

The university has a rich scientific and technical library with more than 1.3 million copies, a unique geological museum, which has been awarded the status of a national treasure of Ukraine.
