Sumy State University

Sumy State University is a higher education institution in the city of Sumy, Ukraine. The history of the university began in 1948, when the educational and consulting center of the correspondence polytechnic institute was created.

The university has 10 scientific schools. SSU has close scientific and educational ties with dozens of universities around the world. The best scientists of the university are full members of international academies, professors and associate professors, awarded with international grants. Young scientists and talented students receive scholarships from the President of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, and local authorities.

SSU is in the TOP 100 according to QS University: EECA (Emerging Europe and Central Asia) rankings among universities in this region. According to these ratings, SSU is among the TOP 10 Ukrainian universities.

Sumy State University is included in the catalog of the best research universities in the world from the Shanghai ranking and in the authoritative catalog of the best universities in the world from the Times Higher Education (THE) ranking.

The university has an extensive infrastructure, including 13 academic buildings, 28 research laboratories and an online university learning ecosystem. Students are provided with 9 private dormitories, as well as a dining room located in a separate building, and cafeterias and buffets in most buildings. The university also has a separate library and information center building with reading rooms.

In addition, the university has a museum, a publishing house and a printing house. For sports activities, 40 sports facilities are available, including a swimming pool, rowing center, ski lodge, as well as sports fields, stadiums and courts on the university premises. And finally, there are 8 workshop buildings designed for practical training and creative events.

About 16,000 people study at the university in various forms of education (educational qualification levels and educational degrees of associate specialist, bachelor, specialist and master) in 46 specialties in 22 branches of knowledge. About 1,300 foreign students from almost 50 countries are receiving education.
