Ukraine and Azerbaijan continue to develop their partnership in higher and international education. Further areas of cooperation were discussed during a meeting between Mykola Trofymenko, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, and Seymur Mardaliyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Ukraine.

The meeting was also attended by Olena Shapovalova, Director of the Ukrainian State Center for International Education, and Albina Tsiatkovska, Director General of the International Cooperation Directorate at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

One of the key areas of discussion was the education of Azerbaijani citizens in Ukraine. Currently, 4,195 Azerbaijani citizens are studying at educational institutions in Ukraine. Providing high-quality learning conditions and ensuring clear procedures for the recognition of their qualifications remain important priorities.

The participants discussed further strengthening direct cooperation between Ukrainian and Azerbaijani universities, developing student exchanges, implementing joint educational and research initiatives, as well as promoting Azerbaijani studies in Ukraine and Ukrainian studies in Azerbaijan.

Particular attention was also given to the mutual recognition of educational qualifications and academic titles. The parties agreed to begin preparations for a meeting of the Joint Commission of Experts on mutual recognition and equivalence in this area.

The continued development of this dialogue is particularly important for international education. Direct university partnerships, transparent qualification recognition procedures, and joint academic initiatives can create additional opportunities for students, educators, and researchers in both countries.

The International Education Center “INGEK” welcomes the continued strengthening of educational cooperation between Ukraine and Azerbaijan and initiatives aimed at expanding international academic partnerships.
