Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv

Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv is one of the most prestigious and respected educational institutions in Ukraine and Eastern Europe. The university was founded in 1834 and named after the great Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko, who personifies the spirit of national awakening and the cultural heritage of Ukraine.

Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv is famous for its rich history and outstanding achievements in the field of education and science. The university offers a wide range of educational programs, including the humanities, natural sciences and social sciences. Students have access to state-of-the-art teaching and research resources, and work under the guidance of experienced and recognized scientists. The university annually hosts more than 350 defenses of doctoral and candidate dissertations. The educational process is provided by 204 departments.

Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv actively contributes to the development of Ukrainian culture, science and education. It is also a center for cultural and intellectual exchange. Today, the university has bilateral partnership agreements with 227 foreign educational and scientific institutions from 57 countries. About 180 foreign scientists and teachers from 32 countries of the world visit the university annually to conduct scientific work, participate in conferences, and give lectures. Every year, more than 1,375 teachers, scientists, and students go on foreign business trips to 59 countries, attracting students and researchers from around the world.

In 2014-2015 Kiev University took 421-430 places in the international ranking of the best universities in the world QS World University Rankings (UK).

A campus with comfortable dormitories, computer clubs, a sports complex, canteens, cafes, and dance halls has been created to accommodate students. For health improvement, the university maintains a sanatorium and health and sports complex on the banks of the Dnieper River.
